Indian cricket team’s performance in the white-ball has come under a big scanner, especially after they lost the ODI series to Bangladesh. The Men In Blue seem to be going nowhere in terms of planning for the shorter versions of the game. They lost the Asia Cup 2022 after which the T20I side saw debacle in the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. They won the rain-affected T20I series before losing the ODIs in New Zealand. The loss to Bangladesh has come under leadership of Rohit Sharma who played with almost the full-strength side. Former cricketer and World Cup winner Madan Lal has questioned Team India`s intent while playing for country and has advised cricketers to plan their break during IPL and not during international matches.
Portuguese Football Federation have responded to reports which suggested that Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo threatened to leave the national squad after the veteran forward started the FIFA World Cup 2022 match against Switzerland on the bench. Alyssa Healy will make her captaincy debut, and there will be at least two changes from the XI that won gold at the Commonwealth Games in August following Rachael Haynes’s retirement and Meg Lanning’s continued leave of absence.
It has created opportunities for incumbents Tahlia McGrath, Ashleigh Gardner and Grace Harris to push their way up the order, while squad regulars Ellyse Perry and Annabel Sutherland have put their hands up for returns to the main XI.

Memphis Depay has given his verdict on the Netherlands’ World Cup quarter-final clash against Argentina and thinks it might come down to a moment of magic. The two teams face off on Friday with Barcelona duo Memphis and Frenkie de Jong eyeing a semi-final spot in Qatar.
Depay is expecting a close game and admitted it could be decided by just one piece of brilliance, like Dennis Bergkamp’s stunning quarter-final winner at the 1998 World Cup.
The seven-time world player of the year is three wins away from achieving his ultimate dream but he has two people, in particular, blocking his path.First, the not inconsiderable frame of Van Dijk, who has been one of the world’s best defenders over the past five years. If there’s anyone able to stop Messi on one of his trademark dribbles, it is the graceful Liverpool center back who combines pace with a great reading of the game. And then there’s Louis van Gaal, the wily tactician who is 71, has recently undergone successful treatment for prostate cancer, and is now plotting to win the World Cup in perhaps the final job of his 26-year coaching career. When Argentina and Netherlands take the field on Friday, it might just be Messi’s last dance on the biggest football platform in the world.
Arguably the greatest tennis player of all time, Roger Federer announced his retirement from the sport earlier this year. The 20-time Grand Slam champion played his last game, a doubles game alongside long-time friend and rival Rafael Nadal, at the Laver Cup earlier this year. Federer recently shared a hilarious anecdote during an appearance on a talk show. During the show, the host asked Federer if it was true that he was denied entry inside Wimbledon. Notably, Federer won eight titles at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club (ALTEC), the most by any player.
The Barcelona legend leaves after four years in charge and mostly positive results, with the highlight being a run to the semifinals of the European Championships with a young team very few expected to go that far.
He made some controversial decisions, became a Twitch star and was accused by Spanish-slash-Madrid media of having a bias towards Barça players, and his decision to stick with Sergio Busquets as the engine of his midfield in Qatar has received many of the same criticisms that Ronald Koeman and Xavi Hernández have had to listen as Barça coaches over the last couple of years as Busi’s play has clearly declined. The worst kept secret in Spanish football was revealed early on Thursday when the Spanish Federation officially announced that Luis Enrique is out as national team coach after the World Cup exit on penalties at the Round of 16 against Morocco.
The hopes of Morocco, the Arab world, and Africa lay on Yassine Bounou’s shoulders as the spotlight fell on him during Morocco’s penalty shootout triumph over Spain in the round of 16 of the World Cup.
Bounou – or ‘Bono’ as he likes to be known – almost thrived under that pressure. Calmly taking his place in goal, grinning as his opponent’s walked up to him, and staying equal to three penalties, which would have been four having guessed right for Pablo Sarabia’s spot-kick that hit the post, to take his country into their first-ever World Cup quarterfinal.
Scotland became the first side to secure a place at the 2023 World Cup Qualifier, going clear of Oman at the top of the League 2 table with a comprehensive win over Nepal in the final match of the 18th League 2 trilateral series at Windhoek. The victory ensures Scotland will finish in the top three of the competition and leaves them well placed to claim the title, while Nepal’s hopes of progression recede further.
Rohit Paudel was the only Nepal bat to pass 20, the young captain salvaging a quantum of respectability with a 57-ball 47 from number 4, but found precious little support as his side were bundled out for just 119 on a largely blameless surface at Trusco United. Scotland made light work of the trifling target, George Munsey and Christopher McBride striking 45 and 46* as the Scots knocked off the requisite runs in just 17 overs.
Real Madrid and Palmeiras have reached an agreement for the signing of Endrick. The transfer, however, has been left pending a bureaucratic issue that is expected to be overcome but for which the green light from FIFA must be obtained.
FIFA have recently tightened the conditions for this type of transfer and the situation is being analyzed.
The reason is that there has been a setback in a first attempt to enter the data into the FIFA TMS, the FIFA Transfer Matching System, which is the platform enabled for this purpose.
Right now, for the rest of the procedure to go through, this point needs to be solved.

IPL 2023 is set to witness the introduction of the ‘Impact Player’ concept by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for the first time in the T20 League’s history. However, the Indian cricket board is yet provide the details and rules pertaining to the ‘Impact Player’ concept to the 10 franchises yet.

The German has retired from racing in Formula 1 after a stellar career. He won four world titles in a row with Red Bull in the early part of his career, while also securing his place in the history books as one of the sport’s most successful ever drivers.
Some of his 53 F1 race wins came while he was wearing the red overalls of Ferrari, but more championship glory eluded him during his time with the Scuderia. Instead, in his final season at Maranello, Vettel admits he was already considering quitting the sport.
The Football Association announced early last week that White would leave the squad, citing ‘personal reasons’.
The 25-year-old did not appear in any of England’s three group stage games as they booked their place in the knockout stage with wins over Iran and Wales and a draw with USA before beating Senegal in the last 16. According to the Daily Star, White became unhappy in the England camp and struggled to mix with his fellow international team-mates before he fell out with Gareth Southgate’s No 2 Holland in front of the rest of the squad.Holland and White allegedly had a heated exchange when the defender turned up to a team meeting prior to the 0-0 draw with the USA not knowing some key information over his own personal stats with the assistant manager also angry over the player’s lack of knowledge of their American opposition.
